Side-By-Side-By-Sondheim

Stephen Sondheim’s Cabaret Revue

Produced by Doug Hill
Directed by Anne Lucas

Musical Direction by Betty Lautner

Marblehead Little Theatre’s Side-By-Side-By-Sondheim, a tribute to composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, came to 12 School Street August 6-8 and 13-15, 2010. Show times at 8 p.m. with an additional show on both Sundays at 2 p.m.

Director Anne Lucas, producer Doug Hill, and music director Betty Lautner, all of Marblehead, assembled a cast of lively and talented performers that will explore Sondheim’s upbeat and lyrically complex work before 1976. In the spirit of MLT’s Jacques Brel revue, which played to sold out crowds last year, Side-By-Side-By-Sondheim will honor the composer, who turned 80 years old this year, by presenting his most popular and accessible songs, many written with others including Leonard Bernstein, Jules Stein, and Richard Rodgers. Audiences will enjoy his best, including songs from West Side Story, Gypsy, Follies, Company, Anyone Can Whistle, and more!
