Based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
Little Women Read Aloud
Saturday, February 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm
In partnership with Abbot Public Library, we are holding a free Read-Aloud event featuring 10 minute selections from Louisa May Alcott’s novel in the Scully Salon at the library.
This event will feature a warm and glowing fire, cast members, light refreshments, and a variety of readers of the novel. Later this month you will have the opportunity to sign up to participate as a reader of one of the 10 minute selections.
We hope to see you at this cozy, festive family friendly event.

Celebrate the Season – A Family Songfest
Songs and narrations of the season including old popular chestnuts, Christmas and Chanukah selections.
Audience participation will be encouraged!
Directed by Betty Lautner, featuring songs of the season including Tom Lehrer’s hilarious CHRISTMAS SONG, a funny snowman depiction of BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE, and an audience sing-a-long of carols and Chanukah favorites.
Special guests include story teller Judith Black with her rendition of TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHANUKAH, and Rudy Lautner singing Adam Sandler’s CHANUKAH. John Archer will offer a musical rendition of TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS. And even SANTA promises to make an apperance.
