Executive Producer

Job Summary:

The Executive Producer plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of Marblehead Little Theatre, overseeing production logistics, fostering partnerships, and supporting the artistic team. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the performing arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Coordination:
      • Offers guidance and support to show producers throughout the production process.
      • Assists with fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
      • Serves as the primary point of contact for partnership with The Beacon.
      • Attends monthly board meetings ex-officio to provide updates and participate in discussions (meetings are either in-person or on Zoom)
      • Maintains a database of potential producers, stage managers, house managers, graphic designers, lighting designers, set designers, and volunteers.
      • Maintains a database of potential off-site rehearsal spaces.
      • Schedules EMACT DASH consultants and manages associated paperwork.

      2. Show-Specific Responsibilities:

        • Meets with show producers to outline expectations and timelines.
        • Schedules auditions for each production.
        • Provides templates and guidance for creating budgets and presents budgets to the Board for approval.
        • Collaborates with the marketing committee and show producers to advertise shows.
        • Books sandwich boards and distributes posters.
        • Assists show producers with program creation.
        • Organizes ushers for each performance.
        • Attends opening night performances, helps to arrange opening night meet and greet with the cast and addresses the audience through curtain speech, as requested. 
        • Completes performance bank deposits, as needed.
        • Facilitates “post-mortem” discussions with Board of Directors after each production.

        Qualifications:

        • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
        • Experience in the performing arts industry preferred.
        • Proficiency in using computers and software for database management and communication.
        • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
        • Passion for supporting the arts and community.

        Compensation:

        Monthly stipend of $800 for approximately 20 hours of work per month.

        Work Environment:

        Primarily remote work however candidate should be within a reasonable distance to the theatre (located at 12 School Street, Marblehead MA 01945)
